The Literacy Council of Brantford and District is a non-profit organization, formed in 1986, and is a registered charity.
Our office is located in the main branch of the Brantford Public Library. Our program is phonics based, and our logo is “Each One Teach One.”
We provide a confidential service to adults who wish to improve their literacy skills, through volunteer tutors trained to teach reading and writing skills on a 1:1 basis. We also offer computer- assisted literacy programs and small-group instruction.
There is no charge for our service; however, we request that learners pay for their work/textbooks if possible.
