Students

Literacy Council of Brantford students must be 16 years of age or older, and not currently in the school system.

 

Volunteers

Volunteers serve as board and committee members, work at fundraising events, help with resources, and provide one-to-one tutoring for students.

 

Board Members

Board members bring a variety of professional and life experience to their board service.  Currently, the Literacy Council of Brantford  has 9 board members, including tutors , professional educators, people from business and finance, and other community members:

ABOUT US

FUNDING

The Literacy Council is primarily funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (M.T.C.U.) - Skills Investment Branch.  The Council also receives money through donations, and our fundraising events, such as the Adult Spelling Bee and raffles (See Events page). 

 

STRUCTURE

The Literacy Council of Brantford is a non-profit organization, and a registered charity.  The Council is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
